Nigeria has found the need to progress massively in the area of self-sufficiency in the production of one of the most popular staple foods in the country.

Nigeria’s premier University – University of Ibadan, Oyo State has started the production of rice courtesy of the Faculty of Agriculture.
The cereal has been packaged into bags branded with the school name and sold at relatively cheap prices.
According to a Facebook post by representatives of the school, a 10kg bag of rice costs N4,000 while a 25kg bag costs a sum of N9,500.
The commodity is available at UIshopwell, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ibadan. This will be coming as good news to Nigerians as the demand for rice is expected to skyrocket during the yuletide.
